Christmas Time

The Holiday season is a great time to spread Joy and pick up your spirits. In NYC I love the lights and decorations and yes.. even the snow. I spent time working on a screenplay and did a little painting also. I had the pleasure of working again with Vincent Ficarra and Robert Mckinley on the interior design at the Paramount Hotel. Check the Library bar if your in the area. I'm feeling nostalgic and therefore on the graffiti tip lately. Here is a pic of a recent canvass & Black book piece. There will be a few more to come after this. My company website is up and running. Check it out the reel and info @ onetencrew.com

A differnet type of writing

What came first the chicken or the
egg? For me, I'm not sure if it was graffiti or creative writing that came first. I know in my teenage years writing graffiti consumed me. Days, I used to burn Woodlawn and a night I would bomb the Bronx highways east to west. I never got a collection of all the work I did but now with the internet I sometimes find photos people have posted in their albums. Here is a few flicks with some of my brethren from my neighborhood. A wall done in the 1990's with Fact -INC. Tmc. DF.. and the next one is a shot of another warehouse I bombed with Sub INC- Df. Both have gone on and made amazing careers with their artwork. I'm blessed to know them today.

Don Capria "Got a Guy" in the Town.

On the real, I always get to hang with some of the best in their craft. The proof is in the pudding. Sometimes they don't get the fame and respect they deserve, but they always get love from those who know about them. G Fella has been attacking the studio with his verbal warfare since the 90's here is a sneak peak at the Got a Guy video slated for release in 2011.
And from Boston a rapper who is really getting his "act" together. I say that because he was just featured in the Box office smash the Town, written, directed and starring Ben Affleck. Here is Slaine's first release of 'A World With no Skies' 99 Bottles

Beantown

I took a weekend in Boston and hang with the fellas. One of my good friends got married to a really great girl. I posted a few pics from the weekend. After that it was back to NYC to sit down and write. I've been working diligently on a book proposal and its almost time to deliver the goods. I also got a sneak peek as Slaine shot his music video for 99 Bottles. It's going to be dope.

"Heat...

....Not the great movie, but the uncomfortable weather." I love New York. I have lived here my whole life and do not complain about the drastic temperature changes. But I do recognize them and make them topic every now and again. I have a stance on global warming but it doesn't make it fact. I do know that if it is or isn't coming we should still be taking steps to prevent it. Not just because of the % chance of destruction if there is, but the moral obligation to this precious planet we have been raping since the industrial revolution. My last blog I took pics from upstate. Its sad to think one day it could be compromised for capital gains. This has been the way with nature for a long time. I'm in the zone writing away but wanted to share a great movie. A must see titled 'The Cove'. It won the Oscar for best documentary this year. Well Deserved.

"The Reel" Don Capria

While working on the book I took a little time to pick out some of my directing work from the past few years and finally get my reel together. I also took a weekend off upstate to take in the beautiful landscape of this great state. I hope you enjoy the pics. They are from Lake Minnewaska, NY.

Summer Season

I kicked off the summer with the Black n Blue Bowl which was back in Manhattan at Webster hall. I posted a flier and a few pics from some of my friends bands at the show. It was a successful day all around and a good break from my writing. All the photos were taken by Helena Van Leirsberghe

Don Capria May ???

I May take some time to myself once I finish this book treatment. Just a short break to clear my head before I begin writing the chapters. Research has been consuming me, but I know this is going to pay off big. I had the pleasure of doing a Film workshop with some of the boys at the Jerome Wagner Home here in White Plains, NY. We also worked with Anthony Gurino on that. Check out the video
We also got the final cut of Danny Diablo's first single "Give me a chance" for his Hellcat release. Check out the video short based on True Romance.

Springing into 2010

Another Month flies by! The weather has been crazier than past years. I went down to Atlanta with my family to have Easter in the middle of nowhere. It was relaxing and beautiful, just a little too far from home for me. I took a few pics with the iPhone.

March Madness !

This Month is going to be a lot of work. March is the month for war, so I will begin by attacking my new project by doing tons of research. While Skarhead is in Europe on Tour I will be spending a lot of time doing interviews for the book. I stopped by Proformance Industries to check out George's latest build and saw this beautiful Bentley with Rims he designed and manufactured in house. He's a true artist!

Contracts Galore...

Contracts are a good thing! 2010 has had a much better start than 2009. I have signed a deal to write a book this year. It is a biography on an infamous public figure whose name I cannot release until the book is complete.. Gotta love exclusivity!! We are starting to work with some new producers for the Westchester series and NYHC band Skarhead is ready to kick off their world Domination tour. Check out their latest Music video I had the PLEASURE of directing.. I was also given the chance to design a few shirts for the tour...

Onetencrew Films year end completions!

After tons of work a production is complete. It's not a joy ride from start to finish but I get a great reward when there's something to see. We got to see the release of Maximum Penalty's "Life & Times" music video and the ACA Untied commercial "Teamwork" featuring Anthony Gurino. I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years! I know 2010 is going to be a big year for me and partner Rob "G Fella" Scalere. Check out our website for updates!
